Cypress Serenade is an original fiber artwork created using a combination of wet felting and needle felting techniques. Hand-dyed merino wool, silk, and specialty fibers are layered and fused to create a richly textured landscape inspired by the quiet beauty of Louisiana’s cypress wetlands at sunset. The silhouetted trees and luminous reflected light evoke a moment of stillness and reverence, capturing the atmospheric glow and emotional resonance of the Southern landscape. Each fiber is intentionally placed by hand, with no paint used, reflecting Morgan’s signature approach to “painting with fiber.”

This one-of-a-kind piece was created for the New Orleans Museum of Art’s annual Art in Bloom fundraising event, inspired by the 2026 theme, “Marsh Madness.”
